Mystery humans spiced up ancients’ rampant sex lives
Genome analysis suggests interbreeding between modern humans, Neanderthals, Denisovans and a mysterious archaic population.
New genome sequences from two extinct human relatives suggest that these ‘archaic’ groups bred with humans and with each other more extensively than was previously known.
The ancient genomes, one from a Neanderthal and one from a different archaic human group, the Denisovans, were presented on 18 November at a meeting at the Royal Society in London. They suggest that interbreeding went on between the members of several ancient human-like groups living in Europe and Asia more than 30,000 years ago, including an as-yet unknown human ancestor from Asia.
“What it begins to suggest is that we’re looking at a ‘Lord of the Rings’-type world — that there were many hominid populations,” says Mark Thomas, an evolutionary geneticist at University College London who was at the meeting but was not involved in the work.
The first Neanderthal1 and the Denisovan2 genome sequences revolutionized the study of ancient human history, not least because they showed that these groups interbred with anatomically modern humans, contributing to the genetic diversity of many people alive today.

Mysterious archaic population. Boy, does that sound familiar. I wonder could that be a ........ nah, couldn't be.
ReplyDeleteMysterious archaic origin: fallen angels. This would explain the "supernatural" abilities and size of the Sasquatch.
DeleteUh-Oh - now some of the nutty lamestream scientists are claiming that computers are spreading viruses via invisible waves in the air - even when there is an air-gap and no foreign media has been inserted into the computer.
ReplyDeleteComputer viruses transmitted via telepathy between computers which aren't even connected to the internet! You can't make this stuff up anymore!
US NAVY: Hackers 'Jumping The Air Gap' Would 'Disrupt The World Balance Of Power'
The next generation hackers may be taking to sound waves, and the Navy is understandably spooked.
Speaking at last week's Defense One conference, retired Capt. Mark Hagerott cited recent reports about sonic computer viruses as one way that hackers could "jump the air gap" and target systems that are not connected to the Internet.
"If you take a cybernetic view of what's happening [in the Navy], right now our approach is unplug it or don't use a thumb drive," Hagerott said. But if hackers "are able to jump the air gap, we are talking about fleets coming to a stop."
LOL! What - do they believe in Voo-Doo Magic? But wait - it gets better!
It's not just thumb drives though. Hagerott cited reporting by Arstechnica's Dan Goodin on a virus that supposedly transmitted via high-frequency sound waves.
Goodin called the malware "the advanced persistent threat equivalent of a Bigfoot sighting."
Now Bigfoot sightings are being associated with air-gap jumping computer viruses that don't even need an internet connection. GEEZ - what do these magical computers use? INFRASOUND?
LOL. Where is "I Doubt It" - because she must be having a bad day with all these wack-o scientists saying there's millions of earths, Mars is full of life, DNA will be teleported from Mars to Earth, and computers attack each other with acoustic waves!

OH - and now they say Man will mate with ANYTHING! LOL! I want the true low-down on Dog-Man! And who was mating with T-Rex, giving us green-skinned three toed Lizard Men?
TSE, I'm just a poor simple old country boy, but as an ex-Navy man, when the Navy says they are concerned about

One more little tid-bit. Remember the U.S. drone that we

Yep, it does give some credence to her hypothesis. I would like to see a comparison of the genomes (the unknown and Dr K's BF)
ReplyDeleteAny idea how Ketchum DNA Study compares to Neanderthal & the Denisovan genomes? Are there any similarities?
ReplyDeletemake the sequences available
ReplyDeleteDr Pääbo should make these new sequences available, it is as simple as that! Then Dr Ketchums group would be able to compare. Yes off cause, Dr Pääbo could compare with the three full sequences that Dr Ketchum have made available, but that wouldn´t happen would it?
Human mt DNA and non human nu DNA?
ReplyDeleteIt seems like many people are being slow to understand this combination above,so I will try to explain a theory for how this have possibly come about. I think most of you have figured this out your selfes anyway though.
If small groups of humans where left living isolated in lands dominated by another hominid for whatever reason and these other hominid males were very keen on the human females, They would then perhaps kidnap or rape those females as an ongoing occurence. If then also the resulting offspring would only survive if living with the humans, there would be a continious input of the other hominids nu DNA in this population, but no mt DNA.
If the other hominid also would posses traits that were superior, at least for reproduction, this population would in theory eventually possibly carry the bigger part of the nu DNA from the other hominid. Still only mt DNA from humans.
Good article. Thanks for sharing Scott! This is not a surprise to some of us,and if mr mainstream thinks this is weird, and a bit uncomfortable,.lets see what state of affairs he's in,a few years down the road,as things, well, get a lot more complicated, and many things forgotten are "re-discovered",lol!!
