Monsters Are Real – The Dogman

I left everyone hanging with a teaser about the cryptids that moved into my research area last year. I will “let the cat or better dog out of the bag” and tell my story.

It all started on March 27, 2011. I was in the public research area doing my thing. I had visited the stick shelter and worked my way to the island crossing. I was looking across to the island and filming. I also had the “back trail” camera on my shoulder filming behind me. Unknown to me at the time a dark figure was standing in the vegetation beside the thick and overgrown trail. The figure was dark brown-black and approximately six feet tall. I did not know this “thing” was behind me until I reviewed my back trail footage the week after my research visit.

What is really out there???

In my recent video post, Bigfoot Research – A Day In The Field – Part 1” I dropped a hint that I had discovered another “cryptid” in my research area. When I first started researching I thought the Bigfoot was some sort of ape/human creature. The more I learned the more I came to the opinion that the Bigfoot was basically a human of some type. When you see one and look into its face it is hard to deny that they look like us and display the same if not greater intelligence than us. So to be honest I never thought of them as a cryptid. They did not have horns, large fangs or claws. I am pursuing and researching what I consider to be a large, hairy, indigenous people that live in the forest.

Do the Bigfoot Use "Stick and Rocks" to Communicate?

I was first made aware of the connection between Bigfoot and Native Americans after reading David Paulides’ book The Hoopa Project. David then followed that with Tribal Bigfoot. In Tribal Bigfoot David puts all the pieces of the puzzle together. Exhaustive documentation to the fact that the Bigfoot has a special relationship with the Native American peoples.

After reading his books I begin to wonder if there was any connection between the area I was researching and Native Americans. I was interested most in the Cherokee. I knew at the time that there may have been some Cherokee villages near my research area, but I had no idea at the time the significance.

Bigfoot Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

In 2009 I captured a black and white video of what I maintain is a infant Bigfoot. I did exhaustive follow-up on the video. I had the angles and measurements so using some good old-fashioned algebra I was able to accurately determine the size of the subject’s head and the body height. To this day the video still gets hits and is still controversial. The interesting aspect of the video is the diverse range of comments I receive. Almost everyone sees something different. There is no argument something is there, but what is there is the subject of debate.

When Game Cameras first became inexpensive and widely available we were all "licking our collective chops". Now we could get those pictures of that pesky Bigfoot once an for all. These handy little gadgets could monitor "squatchy" looking places 24/7 and we have this mystery all wrapped up in a few months. 


Fast forward fifteen years and we are still waiting. The best we have is washed out close ups, miscellaneous body parts (of what we do not really know), a back of something, and a few decent but controversial IR videos. We do not have the 60 second clip of the big guy himself strolling by the camera and making sure to put his face in the lens so we can see sweat bead up on his forehead.

Signs and Wonders

If you research Bigfoot Phenomenon long enough unexplainable events will begin to happen. In a earlier post I talked about the "curse" of the Bigfoot Researcher and home visitations. In the Spring of 2011 I had one of these unexplainable events happen in my back yard.

The one thing I have learned in this crazy field called "Bigfoot Research"  is,  if you do not handle criticism very well then you need to stay away from YouTube and posting your research results on-line. I received a scathing rebuke this weekend that reminded me of this reality.

The two most common questions I get has lately are: Have you ever seen a Bigfoot and what do they look like? My answer is yes and just like us. The latter answer still startles many people who ask me this question, especially those not familiar with the recent developments in Bigfoot research. "But I thought it was an big ape that walked on two legs", is the response I usually get in return to that answer. 

DNA Collection - Got Tape??

Collecting  hair samples has been the main staple for DNA testing. Blood, flesh, and other bodily fluids are more desirable but lets be honest, those are almost impossible to find or obtain. Hair on the other hand is plentiful, can be removed with only minimal discomfort, and if the root or skin tag is attached then you are in business.

Visitor Makes Its Presense Known

Every morning I check the back yard for signs of any visitors (Bigfoot) the night before. This morning (06/13/2012) I found what appears to be an area where my large friend urinated.

The earth was still wet and saturated. This was not present the previous day. The area has a very strong smell of urine.

I was watching a video on YouTube called "Dry Lake Therm Follow up Part One". In this video the boys from the BFRO describe their encounter with a "Bigfoot" on a thermal imaging camera. The interesting aspect was the drawing of the profile of the suspected Bigfoot as it appeared on the thermal view screen.

Bigfoot Captured on Plot Watcher

I placed a plot watcher in the National Park two weeks ago. (05/26/2012). I retrieved the SD card from the plot watcher on 06/09/2012. The plot watcher was programmed to take one photograph every 10 seconds. While reviewing the footage I notice at 08:43 AM on 05/29/2012 a Bigfoot sneaks up to a tree approximately 150 feet away and peeks around the tree trunk at my camera.

Chuck Prahl Recounts His 2008 Experiance with "Samurai Chatter"

My experience takes place in Dorchester County Md it began in February of 2008. Our family was awakened nearly 3-4 nights a week by our dog attacking the picture window in the living room between 12-2 A.M. This is how it played out, I would be awakened by my dog growling beside our bed. After trying to quiet him he would start again moving into the hall within eye sight of our picture window. Then after 10 minutes of low growls he would race to the window barking and snarling like he was attacking a intruder.

No-Tech Bigfoot Research

Bigfoot research is becoming a hi-tech venture. Groups and individuals are searching the woods with devices that have fancy sounding names like: FLIR 4th Generation, Starlight Night Scope, Infrared Nightshots, HD 1080p, Reconyx HyperFire Infrared Digital Game Camera, and the list could go on. These gadgets carry hefty price tags some going into the thousands of dollars. I am not saying there is anything wrong with this approach, I have gradually upgraded my video cameras to Sony 1080p HD cameras. Unfortunately we have a tendency to rely on this technology to "find evidence". When these are just tools to document once we have discovered or found something.

Starchild DNA Video Good Premier for Understanding Bigfoot DNA Study

 The "Starchild" preliminary results show that the skull "may not be human", but I found the explanation of DNA extraction and testing very informative, especially in reference to the Bigfoot DNA study. Dr. Ketchum has been blasted now for many months. I think this video will give the viewer a better understanding of the difficulties faced by Dr. Ketchum and what actually is required to extract and test DNA and how the Bigfoot DNA might be compared to human DNA.

The Best Kept Secret In America - Does Bigfoot Exist - Washington State Hunters Poll Results

The web site http://hunting-washington.com published a member poll entitled: Bigfoot.....does he exist. I found the results very interesting. Out of 254 responses 149 members or 59% responded that Bigfoot "exist" or "on the bubble...theres a possibility of existence".  105 members responded "is in everyone's head". I find this poll interesting because of the number of reports that come out of Washington State. When nearly 60% think Bigfoot exist or possibly does then that tells me that Bigfoot is more common than we general think.

The Curse Of Bigfoot Researchers

I start this morning like every morning, shower, get dressed, take the dogs out, feed the dogs, eat breakfast and go out back and check for sign of a Bigfoot visit. Sounds typical until you get to the Bigfoot part and that is where this story starts.

To Post Or Not To Post, That is the Question

Many researchers struggle with what to post and when. I think almost every researcher has that “special” footage that we are holding onto for just the right moment. For many of us that “right moment” is when the DNA study is finally published. When we can take advantage of the event and “ride the wave”.

The Squirrels Don't Lie

Over the weekend (June 3^rd, 2012) I walked a major trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I have walked this trail many times and the area has been the focus of my research efforts over the past two years. This particular section the trail winds up the side of a mountain until it reaches the top. Once on top the trail continues on for several miles following the top of the mountain range.

Stealth and Bigfoot

We all have heard stories about witnesses seeing a Bigfoot and reporting that they just "disappeared" or "vanished" into thin air. There are many theories on how the Bigfoot seem to do this. Below is a link to a report on how the Octopus can make themselves invisible. 

Could the Bigfoot have this ability? They are covered in hair which in essence is a natural gillie suite. Their skin is usually grey or black. In many cases they just squat down and look like a stump. This article is definitely food for thought.

Bigfoot Evidence in the digital age

 Like many people in America I have always wondered whether the harrowing accounts of sea monsters, sasquatch and other cryptids truly exist in our world or are just tales made up by folks with vivid imaginations. That was an easy way to leave the question until video camcorders and digital cameras became so prevalent that nearly every home in America has at least one now. Not only do we have the riveting accounts by witnesses to these amazing creatures but now we are blessed light high tech equipment to capture imperial evidence of bigfoot. 

Big Foot Behind Me - Review

On May 21, 2012 I posted a video on YouTube showing a Bigfoot watching me from behind. The Bigfoot was light gray and blended in to the background almost perfectly. I find it interest how well his color matched the surrounding tree and ground cover. The sheer size of the Bigfoot is also interesting. In a follow up video I stand in the same location as the Bigfoot. When I am scaled and compared to the Bigfoot it is obvious this guy is HUGE. After studying the video close and stepping through each frame I agree with several people who think the Bigfoot is leaning down or hunched over and is not completely erect. This would put its height at close to ten feet tall!! This leaning over or hunched posture has been reported many times by other witnesses and makes sense in this case.

You can see how large the Bigfoot is compared to me, I am 6'3".

I go back to the area where I believe I filmed a bigfoot behind a boulder in 2010 to set a Plot Watcher trail cam for a few days.The cam was there for 4 days.The footage is inconclusive,I know but I thought it was interesting.What I have is deer running down the hill towards the subjects that seem to be hiding.The subject or subjects jump up and the deer run back up from where they came from.This all happened on an old logging road where the two roads intersect and cross each other.

Idaho Bigfoot Footage Getting Main Stream Attention
